Have conversations with your child about science by observing, predicting, and wondering together about the world around you.

Children love to explore how objects move. Look for ramps as you are out with your child. Talk about how ramps make it easier for people to move or things to move — like slides at the playground, ramps for wheelchairs and strollers, etc.

Children love to explore how water flows, drips, and makes things sink or float. They learn more when you join in their water play and talk with them about what they are doing, noticing, and thinking!

Take a “picture walk” through the book. Look at the expressions on the faces of the characters, the setting, and the use of blocks
with different shapes and colors to build things. Discuss what you and your child see.
